Nagpur company wins traction transformer contract
India, Maharashtra: A company from Nagpur, Vishwas Power Engineering Systems Pvt Ltd, has won a contract to supply traction transformers to the Indian Railways.
By meeting the requirements set by the railways, the company’s product has now got a seal of approval from the railways to bid for supplying its own transformers, according to Sudhir Tapikar, senior marketing manager of Vishwas Power, cites The Times of India.
Along electrified railway lines, there are traction substations every 40 kilometres or so, which under the current agreement will be upgraded by Vishwas Power.
