New solar project and transformer station in Vietnam

Long An, Vietnam: Construction for a 40.6MW solar power plant started in the Mekong Delta province of Long An on September 16.

Invested by the BCG Bang Duong company, a member of the Bamboo Capital Group (BCG), the project covers 50.2 hectares and has total investment of 42 million USD in Thanh An commune of Thanh Hoa district.

The project includes the construction of an 110kV transformer station in Thanh Hoa district, a road system, and a pumping station system for reservoirs and a 9km transmission line.

Tran Van Can, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that this is the first solar project that the province has hosted, which is a milestone in the province’s new power development programme.

When becoming operational, the plan sets to produce about 60 million kWh of power each year, helping enhancing the capacity of the national power grid.

It is scheduled to complete and put into operation by June 2019.
