Grand Cayman to receive new substation with hurricane resilience
Cayman Islands: Caribbean Utilities Company (CUC) recently started works on its new Seven Mile Beach (SMB) substation on the Grand Cayman island.
The new 69/13 kV substation is a $14 million project, which will be CUC’s first substation to incorporate medium voltage GIS technology and the first of its kind in this region, reports CNS Local Life.
The substation, to be constructed by Siemens in cooperation with local contractors, will incorporate modern architecture that will offer significant hurricane resilience.
