EPC contract awarded for Gateway West Transmission Line

USA, Wyoming: The Texas-based Quanta Services has won a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a sub-segment of the Gateway West Transmission Line Project  in Wyoming built by the U.S. electric utility PacifiCorp.

The contract is for the Aeolus – Jim Bridger sub-segment of the transmission line, which will comprise around 222 km of single circuit 500 kV transmission line and include construction of two new substations – the new Aeolus substation near Medicine Bow, Wyoming, and the new Anticline substation near Point of Rocks, Wyoming, reports Compelo.

The Gateway West Transmission Line Project falls under PacifiCorp’s $3.1 billion Energy Vision 2020 project, and includes construction of nearly 1,609 km of new high-voltage electric transmission lines across the U.S. states of Wyoming and Idaho.

The company expects to commence engineering and procurement works on the Gateway West Transmission Line Project by the end of the year. Construction will begin in the spring of 2019 with this sub-segment project slated for completion in late 2020.
