Ørsted awards $228M onshore substation contract in Taiwan

Danish energy firm Ørsted has awarded an EPC contract valued at more than $228 million to Taiwan Cogeneration Corporation (TCC) for the first 900 MW Greater Changhua offshore wind projects in Taiwan.

The contract includes construction of two onshore substations, reports Compelo.

TCC’s wholly-owned subsidiary Star Energy will be responsible for all deliverables related to the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of onshore substations.

Onshore substation is a crucial piece of infrastructure for our Greater Changhua wind farms. It will allow the incorporation of green energy into the power grid and bring clean energy to the households of Taiwan. This also marks the first step of our onshore construction in Changhua starting from early 2019,” said Ørsted Asia Pacific general manager Matthias Bausenwein.
