New substation opens in Ohio
USA, Ohio: North Central Electric Cooperative has opened new Adrian Substation in Wyandot County, a distribution substation designed to serve nearby areas in Seneca and Wyandot counties including the growing power needs of industrial customers.
This $2 million substation is the co-op’s first facility built since 2002, and is part of a $15 million, four-year construction plan announced in 2017, reports The Advertiser-Tribune.
The substation will increases reliability of power supply, allowing the utility to monitor loads from its headquarters, and back-feed electricity to and from neighbouring substations to reduce the length of time in case of an outage.
