BC Hydro embarks on a $37-75M substation revamp project

Canada, Vancouver: BC Hydro is planning a years long, $37-75 million (CAD 50-100 million) project to replace one of the North Shore’s main power substations.

The work on a new Capilano Substation is scheduled to begin next year in Murdo Frazer Park, and expected to last until 2024, reports North Shore News.

The existing substation serving about 12,000 properties from the Capilano River to Lonsdale Avenue was built in the 1950s and most of its major equipment is nearing end of life and needs replacement.
