South Africa, Midrand: A. Eberle Africa (Pty) Ltd., in collaboration with A. Eberle GmbH & Co. KG of Germany, has launched its first Low Voltage Regulation System (LVRSys®) at Siemens Sub-Saharan Africa. The installation, located at Siemens (Pty) Ltd. in Midrand, marks a significant milestone in improving power stability and efficiency for critical infrastructure in South Africa.
LVRSys® is an advanced voltage regulation system designed to stabilize power supply, mitigate fluctuations, and enhance grid performance. Developed in Germany and tailored for the South African market, the technology aims to reduce power disruptions and support industries reliant on a stable energy supply. The initiative is backed by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) through the Renewable Energy Solutions Programme (RES Programme), highlighting international cooperation in strengthening South Africa’s energy sector.
The launch event gathered key industry leaders, including German Ambassador Andreas Peschke, Siemens Sub-Saharan Africa CEO Sabine Dall’Omo, and Siemens Smart Infrastructure Sales Director Marco Rahner. A. Eberle Africa’s Managing Directors, Till Sybel and Brian Howarth, showcased the benefits of LVRSys®, while Prof. Ephraim Nhlanhla Mbuli (UNISA) discussed smart grid applications. Claudia Ardelean of the German Energy Agency emphasized the RES Programme’s role in promoting sustainable power solutions.
A guided tour of Siemens’ Micro Grid System demonstrated LVRSys® in action, underscoring its potential for broader deployment across South Africa. The event concluded with a networking session, fostering discussions on future collaborations and applications of the technology.
A. Eberle Africa remains committed to advancing grid stability, optimising energy efficiency, and supporting sustainable power infrastructure across the continent.
