Switzerland, Zurich / India, Mumbai: ABB has expanded its 18-year collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to modernise and simplify its global IT operations. The new multi-year agreement will strengthen ABB’s digital infrastructure through artificial intelligence and automation, creating a unified foundation to support future growth.

TCS will help ABB implement its Future Hosting Model, a next-generation modular IT framework designed to improve reliability and resilience. The model integrates predictive operations, faster service restoration, and continuous security through TCS’s AI-powered Zero Ops system.

ABB’s Group CIO Alec Joannou said: “Our extended partnership with TCS strengthens ABB’s ability to deliver value to customers. By modernising our hosting operations, we’re creating a foundation for agility, faster innovation, and improved reliability across the business.”

The collaboration will also advance ABB’s Core Platform initiative, which focuses on cloud migration, self-service capabilities, and data-driven governance. TCS’s managed services platform will provide flexibility for ABB’s evolving business structure, supporting mergers, acquisitions, and system integration while aiming to lower the company’s carbon footprint.

“This latest milestone is not just a testament to our enduring collaboration, but a bold step towards reimagining ABB’s hosting landscape with a modular, future-ready architecture,” said Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at TCS.

Building on nearly two decades of cooperation, including ERP implementation, cloud migration, and data centre consolidation, the renewed partnership will further ABB’s digital transformation and strengthen its global operations in electrification and automation.
