India, Gujarat: Adani Energy Solutions Limited has won a landmark $3.2 B power transmission project in Navinal, Mundra, Gujarat. This ambitious initiative is set to play a crucial role in India’s transition to clean energy by facilitating the supply of green electrons to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia.
The project, which is slated for completion within three years, involves a significant upgrade to the Navinal substation, including the installation of two high-capacity 765 / 400 kV transformers. This expansion will enable greater efficiency in transmitting renewable power while ensuring a stable and reliable electricity supply for large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing. Additionally, the project will see the construction of a 75 km long 765 kV double-circuit transmission line, connecting the upgraded Navinal substation to the Bhuj substation, further reinforcing the region’s energy transmission network.
With the addition of 150 circuit kilometers (ckm) of transmission lines and an extra 3,000 MVA of transformation capacity, Adani continues to expand its power infrastructure at an impressive scale. These enhancements will bring the company’s total transmission network to 25,928 ckm and its overall transformation capacity to 87,186 MVA. This substantial growth reflects Adani’s strategic focus on modernising India’s power grid, ensuring it remains equipped to handle the increasing influx of renewable energy sources.
