Germany, Berlin: The Supervisory Board of 50Hertz Transmission GmbH has officially appointed Christine Janssen as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective April 17, 2025. She takes over from Marco Nix, who became CFO of Elia Group on April 1.

In her new role, Janssen will oversee the financial operations of 50Hertz, one of Germany’s key electricity transmission system operators. This leadership change not only reinforces the company’s strategic focus but also establishes gender parity within the executive team, setting a forward-looking example for the industry.

Janssen brings deep expertise in both finance and energy regulation. She holds a background in business engineering with a specialisation in electrical engineering and joins from MITNETZ STROM and MITNETZ GAS, where she served as Commercial Director. Prior to that, she spent over a decade as a senior manager in energy consulting at PwC.

Stefan Kapferer, CEO of 50Hertz, stated: “We are pleased to welcome Christine Janssen. Her experience and strategic mindset come at a time when we are preparing for major investments in the energy sector.”

Janssen shared her enthusiasm for the new position: “The energy transition is a defining challenge of our time. I look forward to helping shape innovative solutions with the team at 50Hertz.”
