UK, Scotland, Edinburgh: CRC Evans, an Edinburgh-headquartered specialist in welding and coating services for energy and infrastructure projects, has appointed Mauro Piasere as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Piasere brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the international energy sector. His appointment comes as the company prepares for its next phase of long-term strategic development.

The new CEO previously held senior roles at Saipem SpA, serving as Chief Operating Officer of Robotic and Industrialised Solutions, and as Director of Innovation and Digital Transformation. In these positions, he focused on the integration of new technologies and supported the company’s involvement in energy transition activities.

At CRC Evans, Piasere is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in conventional oil and gas markets while also expanding into areas such as nuclear, renewables (including hydrogen, offshore wind, and carbon capture) and other critical infrastructure projects.

Speaking on his appointment, Piasere said he was honoured to join CRC Evans at a pivotal moment for the energy industry. He highlighted the company’s established technical expertise and its potential to support both conventional and emerging energy needs.

Luis Araujo, Chair of the Board, welcomed the appointment, pointing to Piasere’s leadership record and vision for growth. CRC Evans is supported by Bluewater, a private equity firm focused on the energy sector, whose partner Martin Somerville noted Piasere’s experience in scaling businesses as a key asset for the company’s future.

Founded in Edinburgh, CRC Evans has a long history of working on large-scale and complex projects worldwide, combining innovation with established practices in welding and coating technologies.
