Philippines, Davao: The Lanang Substation is now operational, reinforcing power reliability and sustainability in one of the city’s fastest-growing districts. It is the 30th distribution substation and sixth fully digital facility operated by the Davao Light and Power Co., Inc.
Strategically located in Lanang, a bustling commercial and residential hub along the Davao Gulf, the new 50 MVA substation is designed to meet the increasing power demands of businesses, residential developments, and upcoming infrastructure projects.
“We saw the need to build a substation in Lanang to cater to the diverse needs of its urban residents and flourishing business community,” said Enriczar Tia, Davao Light President and Chief Operating Officer emphasising the company’s foresight in addressing Lanang’s power needs.
Substations provide gateways to Davao Light’s distribution network, ensuring electricity flow stability, efficiency, and reliability. The Lanang Substation can accommodate up to 50,000 households, supporting existing and future developments in the area.
Equipped with digital technology, the substation enables real-time monitoring and control, improving response times during unscheduled outages and enhancing overall power reliability.
