DTEK to receive funds from EU, US
DTEK will receive €107 million ($112.30 million) from the European Commission and the United States to restore power facilities destroyed in attacks on the energy system.

Ukraine, Kyiv: Ukrainian private power company DTEK has announced it would receive €107 million ($112.30 million) from the European Commission and the United States to restore power facilities destroyed in Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy system. €62.8 million is expected to come from the EU and $46.1 million from the US government. Russia has intensified attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector since this spring, destroying about 90% of DTEK generating capacity.
The company also that the funds, to be provided in the form of equipment and building materials, will provide vital support to an energy system shattered by ongoing missile and drone attacks. More precisely, the European Commission will donate €62.8 million for equipment and materials to restore 1.8 GW of generating capacity, and to protect power plant equipment from snow, rain, and sub-zero temperatures, which is set to ensure a stable and reliable energy supply to more than 2 million Ukrainians. The US is providing $46.1 million to purchase control systems and dozens of new transformers critical to energy supplies. Prior to the Russian invasion, DTEK produced around a quarter of Ukrainian electricity.
