Ghana: To meet the rising electricity demand in Tseaddo and surrounding areas, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Sub Transmission Accra, is set to deploy a mobile transformer aimed at enhancing power delivery and improving network reliability.

This temporary solution will feature a 20 / 26 MVA transformer operating at 33 / 11 kV. It will be stationed in Tseaddo and take on part of the load currently handled by the La Primary Substation.

Communities set to benefit from this installation include Tseaddo, Chain Homes, and other nearby neighborhoods. The mobile unit is expected to significantly enhance the stability and quality of electricity supply, ensuring fewer interruptions for residents and businesses.

In addition to technical improvements, ECG anticipates that the upgraded supply will result in increased revenue and foster greater socio-economic activity in the affected areas.

This mobile transformer is designed to be a temporary measure, supporting the grid while ECG works on upgrading the transformers at the La Primary substation. Once those upgrades are complete, the mobile unit will be withdrawn.

The initiative underscores ECG’s commitment to delivering reliable power and supporting community development through strategic infrastructure enhancements.
