Efacec Tech manages power distribution in France
France, Niort: French Distribution Service Operators SRD and GÉRÉDIS Deux-Sèvres awarded Efacec the modernisation of the command centres responsible for managing the electrical distribution network in the in the region of New Aquitaine
The technology designed by Efacec will allow the management and control of the entire medium and low voltage distribution network, which includes about 300,000 customers, 60 primary substations and 18,000 secondary substations, 100 producers in medium voltage and 8,000 producers in low voltage.
The supply of two advanced distribution management systems is an important achievement for Efacec in a strategic market such as France, in which Efacec is committed to strengthening its presence in the field of advanced network operations and infrastructure management.
SRD and GÉRÉDIS are both local distribution company responsible for electric distribution networks respectively in the departments of Vienne and Deux-Sèvres, ensuring the operation, maintenance, development and modernisation of the networks.
Focused on the development of the service and on benefiting from the advances brought by digital technologies to face the challenges related to renewable energies and smart grids, GÉRÉDIS and SRD decided in 2019 to renew their SCADA tool, a remote-control system used for control and management of electrical distribution networks, with the ability to remotely monitor and operate geographically dispersed equipment.
The implementation of these command and control centres is based on the ScateX platform from Efacec, a software that results from more than 30 years of experience in the area of automation of electrical networks, culminating in a flexible product easily adaptable to the needs of each customer and marketed with different configurations in a turnkey model.
