Romania, Botosani: Romania’s Electroalfa International will soon commission a new transformer production facility in Botosani, developed in partnership with Germany’s SGB-SMIT Group.

The 9,000 m2 SGB-Alfa plant will manufacture transformers in the 50–1000 kVA range, adding over 200 jobs by 2027. Electroalfa says the investment is part of its long-term plan to build a production and technology expertise hub for compact transformer stations in Botosani county.

Electroalfa, a 100 % Romanian-owned company with 34 years in the electrical equipment sector, already operates four production units and an R&D centre, serving more than 500 customers in Romania and abroad.

The factory strengthens Electroalfa’s portfolio in medium and low-voltage solutions and aligns with the company’s strategy to expand nationally and internationally.
