Germany, Baden-Württemberg: German utility EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg has secured seven solar parks in Germany with a combined capacity of 184 MW in the country’s latest open-field solar auction. Five projects are planned across the state of Baden-Württemberg, specifically in Langenburg, Mulfingen, Adelsheim, Geislingen-Erlaheim and Sigmaringen-Gutenstein. One project will be located in Lauenhagen, in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, while another one will be built in Goerlsdorf, Brandenburg.
“Despite the high demand, we were able to secure all the targeted areas with our bids – even though the tender was almost twice oversubscribed,” Harald Schmoch, head of renewable energies at EnBW, commented.
The company owns and operates more than 41 solar parks at the moment, which have an installed output of 760 MW. In the state of Baden-Württemberg alone, it has an installed capacity of 173 MW across 26 sites.
