Italy, Sicily: Italian green power producer ERG SpA has finalised the construction and energisation of the 75.6 MW Salemi-Castelvetrano wind farm, located in the province of Trapani in Sicily. This is the fourth wind farm repowering project for ERG in Italy.

The upgraded project now comprises 18 4.2 MW Vestas turbines. Earlier, it had 30 turbines with a total capacity of 26 MW and a production output of 50 GWh. The modernised wind farm is now expected to generate about 208 GWh of electricity annually, sufficient to power 41000 households. It is set to earn revenues based on a 20-year contract for difference.
