Hungary / UK: Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd has successfully delivered a 60 MVA, 132 / 33 kV transformer for the Corner Copse Solar Farm in the UK.
After spending a year at the Ganz factory, the transformer was shipped just before Christmas, commissioned in March 2025, and is now ready for energization.
In collaboration with BayWa r.e. EMEA UK Ltd, this project marks another significant step toward expanding renewable energy infrastructure in the UK. The transformer plays a critical role in integrating solar power into the national grid, ensuring efficient and stable energy transmission.
Ganz also equipped the transformer with its iReady intelligent monitoring system, featuring direct hot-spot measurement and DGA-3 diagnostics to enhance performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
“We are incredibly proud of our team and partners who made this project a success. This is another milestone in our commitment to supporting a greener, more sustainable future,” Ganz stated.
The Corner Copse Solar Farm is expected to contribute to the UK’s renewable energy transition by increasing clean energy capacity and reducing carbon emissions.
