India, Delhi: GE Vernova Inc. has secured a significant contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) to deliver more than 70 extra high-voltage transformers and shunt reactors. These advanced units will strengthen critical transmission projects supporting renewable energy corridors across India.
The 765 kV class equipment will be manufactured, tested, and commissioned by GE Vernova T&D India Limited, a listed subsidiary of GE Vernova’s Electrification segment. The order aligns with India’s Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding framework, targeting efficient renewable power evacuation.
Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2026, continuing through late 2027, with production taking place at GE Vernova’s Vadodara plant.
