Switzerland, Basel: HAEFELY has recently launched the EPS 6000 kVA, an advanced Electronic Power Supply designed for transformer testing, Peter Schikarski, HAEFELY’s CEO announced on LinkedIn. This system builds on the company’s earlier successes, particularly the DTTS system introduced in 2012, which provided valuable insights for scaling transformer testing from smaller distribution transformers to larger power systems.

The EPS 6000 kVA is designed with modular 500 kVA blocks, allowing for maximum flexibility, efficiency, and serviceability. Users can set it up as a single 6000 kVA test bay or divide it into two 3000 kVA bays, depending on specific testing requirements. The modular structure not only increases serviceability but also enhances production efficiency and enables continuous improvement over the product’s lifecycle.

The system incorporates real-time feedback software that reduces total harmonic distortion (THD) to below 1%, improving the accuracy of no-load loss measurements. Additional software features, such as complete system monitoring and control, enhance operational reliability and safety. The EPS 6000 kVA also carries SIL 3 safety certification, which is particularly significant for ensuring safety during transformer testing operations.
