Germany: Hitachi Energy has officially signed contracts worth over $2.2 B (€2 B) with Amprion GmbH for the Korridor B project.

Hitachi Energy’s pioneering HVDC technology is key to achieving Germany’s net zero targets. Hitachi Energy will deliver four converter stations for two HVDC links, supporting Germany’s clean energy transition and providing power to 4,000,000 people.

The new strategic partnership for grid expansion was announced at the end of December. Korridor B, one of Germany’s most powerful power lines, will transport wind power from the North Sea coast to the industrial centres on the Rhine and Ruhr in the future, making a decisive contribution to the region’s climate-neutral energy supply.
