Iberdrola has achieved a new milestone in the first quarter of 2025, distributing a record-breaking 62,577 GWh of electricity—an increase of 1.7 % over the same period last year. The growth, driven by rising energy demand and accelerated electrification, spanned all the company’s operational regions, including Spain, the UK, the US, and Brazil.

This performance underscores the company’s strong position in the global energy transition. Iberdrola also increased its renewable energy generation by 4.9 % in Q1, reaching 25,222 GWh. Notable contributions came from Brazil, where production rose by 24.6 %, and the United States, which saw an 8.3 % increase. Spain also delivered solid results, exceeding 10,737 GWh, up 2.4 %.

Over the past 12 months, Iberdrola has added 2,511 MW of renewable energy capacity—5.4 % more than the year before—bringing its total to an impressive 44,675 MW. A highlight was the commissioning of the 496 MW Saint Brieuc offshore wind farm in Brittany, France.

As Europe’s top electricity provider by market capitalization, Iberdrola is reinforcing its commitment to clean energy, energy independence, and grid reliability. The company has invested over €160 B in the last 25 years to support a cleaner, more secure energy future.

In countries like the UK, France, Brazil, and others, Iberdrola now generates 100 % emission-free electricity, with Spain reaching a 92 % rate.
