Iberdrola wins Windanker approval
The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has given a planning approval decision for the construction of Iberdrola’s 315 MW Windanker offshore project.

Germany: The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has given a planning approval decision for the construction of Iberdrola’s 315 MW Windanker offshore wind project, which will be located in the Baltic Sea. The decision was handed over to Iberdrola Deutschland CEO Felipe Montero, Project Director Jesus Rodriguez de Diego Zamorano and Sergej Drechsel, Head of Offshore Development, by the leader of the proceedings, Jeannette Edler.
The project is set for commissioning in 2026. It is part of Iberdrola’s Baltic Hub, which will have a total capacity 1.1 GW together with the Wikinger and Baltic Eagle offshore projects. Kansai will have a 49% stake, with Iberdrola retaining control with 51%. The project will feature 21 wind turbines with a unit power of 15 MW and has already sold 100% of its production through long-term contracts.
