Turkey, Erzin: IC Enterra gradually completed the Erzin-2 facility of 136 MW in peak capacity and said it would complete its second photovoltaic park in the country this year as part of a hybrid power plant.

IC Enterra, a subsidiary of IC Holding, commissioned the first phase of the YEKA Erzin-2 solar farm in August 2024 and has since completed the facility.

The plant, which has a 100 MW grid connection, is situated on 2 km2 (200 ha) of municipal pastureland in Erzin, Hatay province, near the Mediterranean coast and the Syrian border.

The firm won a power purchase agreement and a 30-year concession at the government’s renewable energy auction in August 2022. The mechanism is called Renewable Energy Zones – REZ or, in Turkish, YEKA.

IC Enterra estimates that the facility’s expected annual output of 248 GWh per year will be sufficient to meet the electricity needs of approximately 155,000 Turkish households.

Last year, the company secured a $32.5 M loan from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank for YEKA Erzin-2 project. In August, the firm revealed its intentions to begin construction on the 61 MW hybrid PV plant, set for completion in 2025.

There are also nine hydropower plants that IC Enterra runs. Their combined capacity is 388 MW.
