Germany: TenneT Germany has announced the appointment of Kathrin Günther to its Executive Board as Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), effective 1 September 2025. In her new role, Günther will oversee the company’s digital transformation, IT strategy, HR, and corporate security functions.
This appointment represents a key step in TenneT’s ongoing organisational realignment. Since 1 January 2025, the TenneT Group has operated as two independent national entities – TenneT Netherlands and TenneT Germany – under a single holding structure, enabling a clearer national focus and paving the way for potential investor engagement in TenneT Germany.
Manon van Beek, Chair of the Supervisory Board, welcomed Günther’s appointment, emphasising her strong track record in leading complex IT transformations. “Kathrin Günther is a proven expert in digital transformation who will bring valuable momentum to the Executive Board of TenneT Germany,” van Beek noted.
TenneT Germany CEO Tim Meyerjürgens added: “Kathrin brings significant experience at the crossroads of technology, IT, and industry. She is a perfect fit for our team as we advance toward a flexible, digital, and future-ready energy system.”
In her own statement, Günther highlighted the importance of digitalisation in the energy transition: “AI, automation, and digital processes are crucial to building a resilient and intelligent energy infrastructure. I am excited to contribute to this mission at TenneT Germany.”
Prior to joining TenneT, Günther served as COO at GFT Software Solutions, where she led the company’s global software product business. She brings a blend of technical depth, strategic vision, and transformation leadership to her new role.
