KONČAR’s Vanja Burul named best manager
For the 34th time, the Croatian Managers’ & Entrepreneurs’ Association (CROMA) recognized outstanding business leaders, presenting its awards for 2024.

Croatia, Zagreb: For the 34th time, the Croatian Managers’ & Entrepreneurs’ Association (CROMA) recognized outstanding business leaders, presenting its awards for 2024. Among the honorees, Vanja Burul, Chairman of the Management Board of KONČAR – Distribution and Special Transformers Inc., was awarded best manager in the “large companies” category for 2024.
The award ceremony, held annually since 1992, celebrates top managers based on business performance, strategic vision, and social impact. The selection process is overseen by an expert jury composed of previous winners, business leaders, media representatives, and members of the scientific community.
Burul commented: “Awards like this are an exceptional honour and recognition not only for me personally but also for the company where I have worked for over 20 years. Although the award is of a personal nature, I must thank first and foremost my closest associates in the company’s Management Board and everyone else, employees and previous management boards of the company who left us this valuable and successful company as legacy. The past year, 2024, was marked by awards and recognition in numerous business areas, so I believe that with a clear strategy focused on further growth and development in the global market, we are on the right track to further confirm our position as a regional leader in the industry. Together with my team of people, I will continue to strive to build an inspiring work environment, motivate employees to continue working on themselves, to be not only a leader, but also motivation for younger generations of employees to achieve similar achievements.”
Prof. Dr. Stjepan Orešković, chairman of the award jury, commented: “Change is brought by those people who are, in a good way, hungry for success and desire to create, and who never get bored.”
