Saudi Arabia: Linxon, an engineering, procurement and construction specialist, has announced it has secured a major contract for several turnkey 380 / 110 / 13.8 kV substation projects in Saudi Arabia.

According to the company, the new projects will play an important role in reinforcing the Kingdom’s national electricity grid while helping to connect and integrate renewable energy sources.

Linxon is well established in the region and operates as a joint venture between AtkinsRéalis, an international engineering and project management consultancy, and Hitachi Energy, a Swiss-based technology company.

Under the contract, Linxon will be responsible for the full delivery lifecycle. This includes design and engineering, procurement, quality control, factory and site testing, logistics, construction, commissioning and the final handover of the substations. The company said this end-to-end approach helps ensure high standards of safety, reliability and performance throughout the project.

The substation developments form part of Saudi Arabia’s wider renewable energy programme, supporting the addition of solar power to the grid and advancing the country’s clean energy ambitions. They also directly contribute to the objectives of Vision 2030, which aims to build a more sustainable and diversified energy sector.

Hassan Merhi, Managing Director for Linxon AMEA, said the projects reflect the company’s commitment to delivering safe, dependable and sustainable energy infrastructure. He added that AtkinsRéalis will provide project management expertise, while Hitachi Energy will contribute its advanced technological capabilities.
