New leadership boosts TAGAL joint venture

China: thyssenkrupp and Ansteel have introduced new leadership at TAGAL, their longstanding and successful joint venture in China, signaling a renewed commitment to future development. Yang Li and Dr. Yu Sun have been named as the new managing directors, reflecting both partners’ intent to deepen collaboration and drive strategic progress.

Ansteel has selected Yang Li, an experienced industry leader, to serve as Managing Director. Formerly heading TAGAL Guangzhou Company, Yang was instrumental in building TAGAL’s brand and driving integrated growth strategies.

On behalf of thyssenkrupp Steel, Dr. Yu Sun has been appointed to the role of Managing Director and Board Member. With extensive global experience in the steel and plant sector, Dr. Sun has been involved with TAGAL from its inception, contributing to its establishment, expansion, and market leadership.

Founded in 2000 as a 50:50 joint venture, TAGAL supports the automotive industry and has emerged as a sector leader through innovation, strong customer focus, and sustainable practices.

In a 2024 meeting in Germany, thyssenkrupp CEO Miguel López and Ansteel CEO Dr. Chengxu Tan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership across multiple sectors, including green transformation and smart manufacturing.

With this refreshed management team, thyssenkrupp and Ansteel aim to fortify TAGAL’s role in the global market and further advance their shared vision of innovation and collaboration.
