Sweden, Stockholm: Nynas AB, a global supplier of specialty chemicals, has reported stable financial results for the third quarter of 2025, supported by strong performance in its naphthenic specialty products and operational efficiency.
Sales volumes of Naphthenic Specialty Products (NSP) rose by 5 %, with unit margins up 12 % in USD terms compared to the same period in 2024, driven by firm pricing and solid demand across key markets. In the Bitumen segment, sales volumes declined by 3 %, though unit margins increased by 7 %, reflecting the resilience of the Scandinavian market.
Financially, Nynas achieved an Adjusted EBITDA of 484 MSEK, compared to 515 MSEK in Q3 2024, with the difference largely attributed to a stronger Swedish krona. Net earnings for the quarter reached 36 MSEK, reversing a loss of 84 MSEK a year earlier. The improvement reflects lower debt levels and disciplined financial management.
The company’s sustainability efforts were recognised with an EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing Nynas among the top 1% of organisations globally, and by joining the UN Global Compact, reinforcing its commitment to responsible business practices. Employee engagement also remained high, with an 84/100 score in the latest company-wide survey.
Looking ahead, Nynas expects continued strength in naphthenic margins and steady demand for bitumen, maintaining its focus on operational excellence, sustainability, and customer value.
President and CEO Eric Gosse stated, “Nynas continues to deliver resilient results in a challenging environment, driven by our focus on specialty products, operational excellence, and sustainability. Our financial discipline and customer focus position us well for the future.”
