Police probe theft at Ohio substation
Boardman police are investigating damage and copper theft at a Lake Park Road substation, where several transformers were targeted between 15 and 17 November.

USA, Ohio, Boardman: Police in Boardman, Ohio, are investigating a break-in and theft at a substation on Lake Park Road, where copper wires and other equipment were reported stolen earlier this week.
Officers were called shortly before noon on 1 December by the co-owner of the facility. He reported that several transformers had been damaged and that copper wiring had been removed.
According to the police report, the break-in took place sometime between 15 and 17 November. During that period, an unknown person entered the fenced-in substation building, dragged one of the transformers outside the secure area, and removed all of its copper wire and busbars. The report states that copper and busbars were also taken from two additional transformers.
The co-owner estimated the value of each transformer at between $20,000 and $30,000, with the stolen copper wire and busbars worth around $10,000.
He told officers that he is not aware of any potential suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
