Schneider Electric Infrastructure to expand transformer facility

India, Gujarat: Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd (SEIL) has announced plans to expand its transformer manufacturing capacity. The company’s board of directors has approved the plan to enhance the existing manufacturing capacity of medium power transformers.
SEIL will invest INR 13.6 crore ($1.57 million), to be financed through internal accruals and/or borrowings, to expand the manufacturing capacity of medium power transformers by 1500 MVA per year. The goal of the plan is to meet market demand and the company’s growth ambition.
The transformer facility is located in Vadodara in Gujarat. According to the plan, the existing capacity of 5500 MVA would be enhanced to 7000 MVA by the end of FY26 (March 31, 2026). The plant’s current capacity utilization is around 96%, the filing said.
