USA, Oklahoma: SGB-SMIT Group and Southwest Electric Co. have signed an agreement for the purchase of Southwest Electric Co. Closing is expected in the first quarter of 2025.

Southwest Electric was founded in 1946 and is based in Oklahoma City, OK, with facilities in Tulsa, OK, Nashville, TN and Louisville, OH. The company specializes in electrical components, transformers, and services for sectors like oil and gas, utilities, wind power, and data centers.

SGB-SMIT is an independent transformer manufacturer which has been serving the US market for decades through its affiliate OTC in Louisville. The acquisition will enhance its geographic reach and local manufacturing capabilities in the United States, thus contributing to profitable growth. The acquisition aligns well with both companies, expanding SGB-SMIT’s service staff and complementing the product portfolio by special transformer and switchgear manufacturing.
