Uzbekistan, Jizzakh Province: Shanghai Electric has completed and commissioned its Zafarabad 220 kV Digital Substation in Jizzakh Province, Uzbekistan. The facility is the country’s first digital substation, it covers approximately 75000 m2 and has a capacity of 400 MW.

It has two 250 MVA auto-transformers, developed and manufactured by Shanghai Electric, which will step down the voltage from the 220 kV level of the higher power grid to 110 kV for local distribution. The substation is equipped with advanced monitoring and data acquisition systems that reduce the need for on-site maintenance personnel and improve operational safety.
