Ukraine, Odesa: A 14-year-old girl from a village in Berezivskyi district was detained for allegedly setting fire to a transformer substation.
According to the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa Oblast, the incident occurred last week in the evening.
Investigators say the girl waited until dark, poured flammable liquid on the substation, and set it on fire, recording the act with her phone to prove her “work” to a customer.
Nearby residents quickly extinguished the fire and alerted the police, who later discovered the girl had agreed to commit arson for money after finding an offer on a messaging app.
Authorities seized evidence, including matches, a rag, flammable liquid, and phone messages with the organizer. Since she is below the age of criminal liability, the court will decide on educational corrective measures.
Earlier, police charged eight individuals with arson, allegedly acting on behalf of Russian Federation operatives.
