Sweden: Vattenfall has named David Flood as its next head of offshore wind, with the appointment effective from 2 March 2026. Flood joins from Statkraft, where he has led the Norwegian company’s offshore wind business.

Catrin Jung, head of business area wind at Vattenfall, said Flood brings more than 15 years of experience across the offshore wind value chain, including joint ventures and partnership development. She noted that his industry knowledge and strategic background will support Vattenfall’s plans to expand its offshore portfolio.

Flood said he was pleased to be taking on the role and highlighted the importance of offshore wind within Vattenfall’s broader goal to operate a fossil-free energy business. He added that the company has established a strong position in Northern Europe through its operating projects and development pipeline.

Over the past two decades, Flood has worked in various areas of the fossil-free energy sector, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, hydropower and grid services. He has held a number of senior management roles in the delivery of European renewable energy projects.

Flood will report directly to Jung and will join Vattenfall’s business area wind management team.
