Brazil, Itaituba: WEG will provide its package of solutions for the Tocantinzinho Project being developed by Brazauro Recursos Minerais S/A, a subsidiary of G Mining Ventures Corp, one of the largest gold mining projects in Brazil, located in Itaituba in Para state. It is an open-pit gold mine currently in the exploration phase, containing roughly two million ounces in gold reserves and an estimated ten-year lifespan.
The scope of supply includes 22 auxiliary transformers ranging from 300 kVA to 6250 kVA and two 32 MVA, 138 kV step-up transformers, together with other solutions such as 2 rotating synchronous condensers with -15/+15 MVAr, 13.8 kV, 60 Hz, one 5 MVAr, 138 kV reactor, various motors and startup, commissioning, and training. The acquisition and installation of the equipment should provide the necessary infrastructure for the efficient operation of the mine.
The equipment is set to be integrated into the plant’s substation. The transformers will be remotely monitored by the WEG Power Transformer Specialist through dashboards, artificial intelligence, and the cloud-based WEG Transformer Fleet Management platform. This enables asset and fleet management, ensuring operational continuity and safety.
