Portugal, Santo Tirso: On October 17, WEG inaugurated its new manufacturing site in Santo Tirso, Portugal, an important step in its European expansion strategy. The site has a structure spanning over 100000 m2, 45000 of which are covered.
The facility will consist of a High Voltage Solutions Center, dedicated to the production of medium- and high-voltage motors and frequency drives, while offering specialized services, both on-site and in-house, for WEG and third-party motors, drives, transformers, and generators. It will serve as the headquarters for one of the group’s research and development centers, specializing in motors for potentially hazardous areas.

The site operates with 100% renewable energy. The facility is set to serve strategic markets in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, offering an efficient and reliable supply chain for its customers.
