Weidmann opens new facility in Croatia
The new laminated board facility in Pojatno expands Weidmann’s production by 8,000 m², strengthening support for transformer makers worldwide.

Croatia, Pojatno: Weidmann has officially opened its latest Laminated Board Facility in Pojatno, Croatia, on 19 September 2025.
The new facility brings an additional 8,000 m² of production space, taking Weidmann’s total footprint in Croatia to 36,000 m². The investment will create 40 new jobs while enhancing capacity to meet the growing global demand for transformer insulation materials.
Construction started in August 2024 and was completed in just over a year, reflecting efficient project management and close collaboration between local and international teams.
The inauguration ceremony welcomed high-level guests including Croatia’s Deputy Prime Minister Davor Božinović, Swiss Ambassador H.E. Beatrice Schaer, Zaprešić Mayor Željko Turk, Franziska Tschudi Sauber, Chair of the Weidmann Board of Directors, and Group CEO Maximilian Veit, along with the Weidmann Executive Team and Croatian staff.
This expansion is part of Weidmann’s broader global investment strategy aimed at securing supply, modernising operations, and reinforcing its role in the energy transition. With the laminated board facility now operational, Croatia stands as a key hub in Weidmann’s international network.
The project highlights Weidmann’s commitment not only to its customers worldwide but also to long-term growth and support for the local community.
