IEC 60296:2020 Ed5 has been approved for publication. This presentation will introduce participants to the changes and additions to the Fluids for electrotechnical applications – Mineral insulating oils for electrical equipment standard.

Ed Casserly received his B.A. in Chemistry from the University of St. Thomas and was awarded his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Rice University. Ed began his career as a research chemist with Pennzoil and then with Penreco, a specialty hydrocarbon producer and is currently Director of Refinery Research and Development for Ergon Inc in Jackson, Mississippi. He has been involved with R&D and technical support for specialty petroleum products for 35 years. He is a member of IEEE, Cigre, ANSI TAG IEC/TC 10/TC 14, and is Vice-Chair for ASTM D27. Juan Acosta joined Ergon as Global Technical Marketing Manager for Insulating Oils after leading the Transformer Lifecycle Management portfolio for Siemens in the US. He worked 15 years with Siemens and held different positions within the power transformers division to include Manufacturing Technologies, Strategic Planning, Manufacturing Management, Asset Services, and Transformer Lifecycle Management. Juan is currently member of IEC, ASTM, IEEE and CIGRE, he has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, MBA and is a certified Project Management Professional. Juan.Acosta@ergon.com
