    Dr Bruce Pahlavanpour

    Dr Bruce Pahlavanpour is a world-renown expert in the field of insulating liquids, who is currently working as Dielectric Fluid Consultant for Ergon International Inc. in Belgium (since January 2022), where he conducts educational seminars for utility engineers involved in the preparation of international standards. He is also working on the development of a diagnostic technique for transformer condition monitoring using oil analysis. Prior to his current post, he worked as a senior technical coordinator at Nynas Naphthenics, conducting research into the development of new transformer oil, maintenance and insulating oil management. His earlier posts include that of a senior petroleum chemist for the UK National Grid, head of the analytical department at Caleb Brett International UK, a university lecturer in Lybia, and a research chemist and junior lecturer at Imperial College at London University.

    Dr Pahlavanpour has published over 380 articles in international journals, as well as two chapters in Measurement, Instrumentation and Sensors handbook by CRC Press/IEEE Press, USA. He is responsible for maintaining 68 international standards on insulating oils. In 2005, he was awarded the IEC 1906 Award for outstanding contribution to the state-of-the-art revision of IEC 60422 and for the contribution to the development of a large number of IEC standards as convenor of many MT and WG. He is also a member of the Chairman Advisory Board of IEC TC10.
