This OLTC (On-Load Tap Changer) course covers the basics of tap changers, which are used to regulate transformer output voltage. Tap changers allow for voltage adjustment without interrupting service. The course discusses different tap changer designs, including resistor and reactor types, as well as their operating principles. It covers topics like bridging positions, series transformers, and the differences between on-load and de-energized tap changers. The course also touches on tap changer maintenance and diagnostics. Overall, it provides a solid introduction to this critical transformer component. The course is planned to have 8 lessons, with the first two covering fundamentals and the remaining lessons going into more advanced topics.
